Did you know that your attitude in life could make or break your marriage? It’s true. Your attitude tells you what to do in certain situations and how to behave with certain issues in your marriage. Are you carrying around the right attitude for your marriage? This article will explore the top five reasons why you might be carrying around the “not so right attitude”.

1. Do you have a positive attitude about God? Attitudes reflect what you feel about God. Meaning your whole outlook on life can be transformed into a positive experience if you have a deep and meaningful relationship with your Creator. You do this by getting to know Him and by “wanting” to understand God’s wisdom filled ways more than your ways.

You ought to be loving God with all of your heart, mind and soul and God will give you the faith and confidence you need to be loving and compassionate to your spouse, friends, family, and associates.

That’s all about it! A simple exchange takes place between you and God. When you trust in Him, He’ll then give you the wisdom you need for your life and marriage.

2. Do you let others dictate what your attitude will be? Many of us do. We listen to the negative attitudes of others and it rubs off on us. This is what happens in marriage when couples become entangled in a heated argument.

These kinds of arguments usually don’t get anywhere because they are being played off with bad attitudes. Your spouse says something negative about you and you in turn look for something bad to say about them. What needs to be done is to start thinking positive about God in your life and marriage, and your negative attitude will vanish from your mind!

3. Is your attitude in marriage consistent with your actions? In other words, your mind and heart must know, see, and feel the same way, not in contradiction to each other or you will come off as a hypocrite.

If you try and be something that you are not, it will eventually come out in your actions. Your heart has to feel what you say, and you mind must know what it is your heart wants. Otherwise, you might speak things that are not true to your spouse and come off as hypocritical with them.

This happens because you are getting the wrong messages sent to you by the culture of society. The culture of today believes it is ok to lie to your spouse and to commit adultery, but what does your heart say? We need to put 100% attitude into our marriage by loving our marriage with all our heart, mind and soul.

The same thing is true with our attitude about God. He wants us to love him not just with our mind, but with our heart and soul too.

These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men. Matthew 15:8-9 (Where is the relationship?)

4. Is your attitude about your marriage causing you to sin? Are your thoughts and feelings getting in the way of your actions? Have you taken your eyes off the spiritual Christ for your marriage? Or maybe you “need” the spiritual Christ for your marriage.

To see your marriage in the positive light, and to understand why some things happen the way they do, or why you might feel a certain way all comes down to what you believe is right and good for your marriage.

All of these things take the right attitude to be able to understand them with the spiritual clarity they deserve. The right attitude isn’t afraid to love God wholly. The right attitude is not afraid to be humble and meek in front of others. The right attitude is the spiritually happy attitude.

If you do not trust God for the guidance and that your marriage needs, who are you going to trust? Yourself? Society? Culture? What do they know? Where does their judgment for “your marriage” come from?

God wants you to love him enough that you will build your marriage upon His foundation of wisdom and truth.

Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mind and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is alike a foolish man who built his house on sand. 5. Do you know how to recognize God’s positive results in your marriage?

A good tree always bares good fruit, which becomes noticeably apparent to everyone. When you finally give up “your way” for “God’s way” your attitude begins to change, and you will start to feel better about your self. You become a tree of abundance for your marriage.

Your whole outlook and position in the marriage will transform into an optimistic and constructive way of thinking. This happens because you have trusted in God for the care of your marriage. Your marriage now stands on the foundation called the rock. The rain and winds came, and blew dangerously against your house, but your attitude saved it from falling.

6. Do you know how to keep allowing God’s life force in your marriage? Never lose sight of who you are. You are a child of God and God is your source, not society nor culture but The Omnipotent God! Open your eyes and start seeing with the wisdom that God has given you.

Therefore as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Galatians 3:12-14

While this may be breakfast, lunch or dinner, the latter may be the best choice so that nobody is worried of feeling overfull while being fitted. It is traditional for the bride to give each of her bridesmaids a small gift – a bracelet or earrings to wear on the wedding day – but if this isn’t cost effective, then small handmade gifts are appropriate.

Luncheon given by the mother-in-law

This one is hosted by the groom’s mother, in her home, and while the bride and her mother are both invited, the hostess has the option of inviting either the bridesmaids or matrons (grandmothers, great-grandmothers) of both families. Gifts are not given at this party.

The bridal shower

This is the party given to help a new bride establish her home. For younger women who may still be living with their parents, or who haven’t been on their own very long, the gifts are usually geared toward setting up her household. Examples are kitchen utensils, linens, towels, etc. For older women, who perhaps don’t need the same types of gifts, themed parties work best. For example, try holding a “Recipe Party” where each guest donates a favorite recipe and the ingredients necessary to make the dish. Or make it a “Pampered Princess Party” where all the gifts are “indulgent.” Chocolates, bubble bath, and candles are good gifts, as are gift certificates for a massage or a manicure.

The bachelorette party

The maid of honor is responsible for organizing this party. Generally, this is a non-gift party, but has increasingly become a somewhat “raunchy” event in that the bride receives gifts of lingerie and other such “intimate” gifts and toys. It is usually held in a bar or series of bars or, if in someone’s home, exotic dancers are hired. While this type of party seems to be quite popular, many brides would prefer not to have one. Although some will go along with it for the sake of their friends, most such women, deeply in love enough to marry their beloved, don’t want or need “one last wild night.” The bridesmaids who arrange these parties are likely to enjoy them far more than the bride, who is supposed to be the one being honored. Before planning such an event, make sure it’s what the bride wants. If she says no to it, respect her decision and plan a luncheon instead.

The pajama party

These are gaining popularity with the younger women, especially when conforming to traditional protocols seems too stuffy for the times, or they just don’t suit the bride’s personality. This party is given by either the bride or the maid of honor. It begins with “chick flicks” that have a love or wedding theme. Pajamas are worn and standard pajama party fare is served, i.e., potato chips, popcorn, and pizza; though wine or coolers usually replace the soda pop of childhood parties. Come prepared with curling irons, nail polish, makeup, CDs of good dance music, and fashion magazines. If the bride hosts the party, the maid of honor should stay behind to help with clean-up in the morning. Gifts aren’t usually given, but if they will be at this party, the presents should be small, simple items, such as makeup or nail polish.

Any or all of these parties are open to modifications. For example, more and more couples are having shared parties: the bachelor/bachelorette party includes the bride and groom, and all their friends; and the bridal shower is now the “bride and groom shower.” At this party, men and women attend, and the gifts are not only items for the house, but the garage and garden too.

Keep budgets, schedules, and the bride’s personality (and groom’s if applicable) in mind when planning any event, and feel free to be creative. Remember, this is a time of celebration and that above all, the bride should feel as stress-free as possible. If necessary, and if your budget allows it, hire caterers; or, if the best thing would be to forego all the pre-parties, then let go of the guilt and instead, prepare to have a great time at the wedding. After all, that’s the one party the bride is most excited about anyway.

SCADA Systems

Monitoring and Control of processes are implemented using SCADA systems. SCADA is an acronym for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. Variables of a process are constantly monitored and processed for computation of various parameters for issue of control commands, if necessary, in both open and closed loop manner with the help of a combination of electromechanical and digital elements/equipments.

The implementation of fairly large SCADA system used in applications like power system monitoring and control, involves a centralized process computer connected to a large number of Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) which are geographically distributed in vast areas, using efficient communication channels. The process computer acquires intelligence from these remote terminal units and does the necessary processing internally with the help of numerous application software programs that are executed in the computer either on demand basis.

The Power system Dispatchers are responsible for the dispatch operations like, issue of supervisory controls to either open or close Circuit Breakers (C.Bs) in substation, lower or raise the scheduled interchange of power with the neighboring power systems, to maintain system parameters like voltage, frequency, power flow, to monitor and analyze various system alarms as well as to take appropriate actions against each alarm etc.

In order to enable the Dispatchers to do these functions, they are provided with a complete snap-shot of the entire power system with the help of various sub-station oriented displays in several computer consoles. The sub-station oriented displays in several computer consoles. The Characteristics of transfer of data between Master and the RTUs is typical of a Master/ Slave protocol, in a SCADA system. There exists a variety of different types of Master/ Slave protocols that are implemented in a SCADA system. Most of these protocols in the past were only supporting analog communication channels. However, with the advent digital communication technology, getting migrated to digital SCADA protocols like IEC60870-104 protocols supported using digital communication media. This would also support an RTU talking to more than one Master Station.

August 25, 2020 – For the first time a court case is based on a multi voice recognition transcript as the main evidence. It was when Frank Levin took part in a dispute with four people that resulted in a fired gun that killed Adam Denny. The three other all testified that Frank had pulled the trigger, while Frank claims that according to the transcript, it clearly states that he was not the one holding the gun.

The challenge for Frank Levin’s attorney in this case is to make a multi voice recognition transcript valid as proof of evidence in itself, since the conversation was not recorded. Frank had his voice recognition software in “text mode only” on his cell phone, so during the conversation no talk was saved; only a text file was created. The case is assumed to mainly be about the reliance in this technology which in the long run could benefit the development of voice recognition software.

Multi voice recognition has become widely popular for the last years, especially within the business world, since it allows all meetings to be recorded and transcripted simultaneously, with every quote related to the correct person. When the meeting is over, everyone gets a transcript of the meeting, easily searchable for the correct information. Veterinary Hematology 101; 2005 Abstract

Veterinary Hematology is more than just blood cells. Blood, highly functional and truly definitive, does much more than provide for the transport of cellular metabolites and waste products. Blood is made up of four major components: Plasma, Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, and Platelets.

Each component possesses its own diagnostic significance in the veterinary clinical setting.

Without blood, you have no viable mammal life. Therefore without blood, the clinician has no valid clinical picture of disease-state. To appreciate the value of blood, the clinician should examine each individual component of blood separately to gain an appreciation for the clinical significance and diagnostic value of veterinary hematology in their practice. Anemia will also be discussed.

Plasma

Plasma carries blood and blood proteins. Aside from a high water content, plasma also contains dissolved salts, calcium, sodium, magnesium, and potassium. Plasma contains clotting factors and on exposure to air it will clot. Serum is the clear fluid that separates from clotted whole blood and clotted plasma. Plasma comprises approximately 20% of the animal body’s extracellular fluid. Most plasma protein molecules are too large to pass through the capillary walls into the interstitial space. The small amount of protein that can pass through the capillary walls is primarily taken up by the lymph nodes and eventually returned to the circulation.

The Majority of the plasma proteins are produced in the liver. Plasma proteins form three major chemical groups (fractions) and have varying functions:

*albumin – approximately 60%

*fibrinogen – approximately 4%

*globulins – approximatly 36% over three subfractions (IgA, IgB, & IgG)

The relative proportions of plasma proteins can vary in certain diseases and these variations can be clinically useful in determining proper IV therapy. Albumin is the smallest of the plasma proteins and easily passes through capillary walls. In kidney disease, large amounts of albumin are excreted through damaged kidney tubules and can be detected in the urine.

Functions of the plasma proteins include:

Intravascular collid osmotic pressure. Maintains fluid and electrolyte levels.

Transport of insoluble substances allowed by protein binding processes

Contribution towards the plasma viscosity

Inflammatory response via microbe fighting antibodies

Protein storage reserve

Clotting

Protection from infection via plasma gamma globulins

Plasma also contains inorganic ions, which are important in regulating cell function and maintaining homeostasis. As an example, depletion of potassium may occur following severe diarrhea and vomiting. Potassium is an essential element of cell excitability. Sharp decreases in potassium will cause muscle weakness and cardiac abnormalities. Similar problems may cause sodium depletion. Subtherapeutic sodium levels in the plasma will result in the volume of extracellular fluid to decrease which will lead to a drop in blood pressure causing lethargy, dizziness, weakness and fainting.

Plasma carries a wide range of substances including dissolved gasses left over from the respiratory exchange cycle (mostly CO2). Blood carries oxygen because it does not have an affinity for plasma related to its water solubility.

Nutrients, the most abundant being glucose, are carried in the blood plasma as a source of fuel for cellular metabolism. Amino acids, fatty acids, triglycerides, cholesterol and vitamins are also carried by plasma. Urea, uric acid, creatinine from the kidneys, bilirubin from the gall bladder and other waste materials are also transported by plasma. Plasma proteins carry
hormones, such as cortisol and thyroxine. The plasma also carries certain drugs and ETOH.

Platelets

Platelets are the result of cellular fragments shed from the megakaryocyte while in the bone marrow. Platelets considered cell fragments rather than actual cells, play a critical role in blood clotting. When an injury to the body occurs, a chemical substance is released at the site of injury.

Platelets are able to quickly adhere to this chemical and begin to form alliances with other platelets and clotting factors. This alliance is the body’s defense against bleeding to death.

Platelets are also significant in forming diagnostic clues to the blood smear and can be useful at guiding the clinician in care planning, treatment and further diagnostic steps. Platelet morphology together objective data can be indicative of bleeding disorders and leukemia.

RBCs

Red Blood Cells, seemingly basic, are created and have the sole purpose of keeping the mammal alive by carrying oxygen to the tissues and white blood cells out of the bone marrow and into circulation. Red Blood Cells along with other blood components are present in nearly every portion of the body. When there is not enough blood in the body, anemia occurs and the animal begins to have clinical signs. It becomes imperative that clinicians immediately identify the etiology of anemia in order to help define or refine treatment. In doing so, the clinician will examine the blood smear and available objective data in order to quickly determine whether the anemia present as defined by a low pack cell volume (PCV) is one of production, consumption, sequestration or destruction. We will be discussing the cellular size, shape, color and other diagnostically significant data present in various states of anemia to aid the clinician in accurate slide evaluation.

WBCs

The white Blood Cell (WBC) plays an important role in the animal body by providing our bodies

with a weapon to fight against infection and disease. The primary function of the WBC is served mostly after it leaves the marrow and enters the blood stream after being carried by the RBC from its site of formation in the marrow, to its site of labor in the blood stream. There are five types of white blood cells seen in blood and each has different roles to perform.

The Neutrophil

The neutrophil, in conditions of health and certain disease, is usually the most common granulocyte found in blood. The cytoplasm of the neutrophil contains three differing types of granules. It is these granules that result in it being termed a granulocyte. Neutrophils generally have segmented or hyper-segmented nuclei giving them the appearance of being mutlinucleated.

In fact, they are not multinucleated as a thin strand of chromatin connects each lobe of the prominent dark purple, multilobed nucleus. At times, this chromatin strand can be visualized by most microscopes, when care is taken to look for it. Sometimes however, the strand becomes obscured by parts of the nuclei itself as a result of cell orientation and smear technique.

The three type of granules seem in the cytoplasm of the cell perform specific functions.

Primary granules are non-specific and contain lysosomal enzymes, defensins, and some lysozyme. The granules are similar to lysosomes. They stain violet in color when prepared with Wright’s stain or Diff Quik. The enzymes produce hydrogen peroxide, which acts as a powerful antibacterial agent.

Secondary granules, found in the cytoplasm of the neutrophil, stain neutrally a light pink. They contain collagenase, which helps the cell to move through connective tissue, and deliver lactoferrin, which is toxic to bacteria and fungi.

Tertiary granules have only recently been appreciated as a granular component to granulocytes.

They are thought to produce proteins, which help the neutrophil to stick to other cells and hence aid the process of phagocytosis.

Neutrophils, once they arrive at an area of infection, respond to chemicals (called chemotaxins which are released by bacteria and nectrotic tissue cells) and travel towards the area of highest concentration of infection or necrotic tissue. Once they arrive at their destination, they begin the process of phagocytosis in which the offending cells are engulfed and destroyed by powerful enzymes. This process requires much energy, so the glycogen reserves of the neutrophil are soon depleted and the neutrophil promptly dies soon after the phagocytotic process. When neutrophils die, their contents spill out into the blood stream and remnants of their enzymes cause liquefaction of closely adjacent tissue. This results in an accumulation of dead neutrophils, tissue fluid and abnormal materials that is known as pus.

The Eosinophil

Eosinophils appear as the most colorful portion of blood and as a primary function, provide for a defense against the larvae of parasitic worms and unicellular organisms. Eosinophil granules contained in the cytoplasm contain a substance called MBP (major basic protein) which is toxic to many parasitic larvae. Eosinophils have surface receptors for the antibody Immunoglobulin E (IgE). These receptors are not found in other white blood cells and are believed to be of importance in their role at fighting parasitic infection.

The number of Eosinophils in peripheral blood circulation increases in some allergic conditions.

Numbers of Eosinophils increase in the peripheral blood smear when nasal and bronchial mucosal linings are irritated in asthma, brochitis, hay fever and certain adverse drug reactions.

Eospinophils are believed to neutralize the effect of histamine.

Eosinophils also have a marked tendency in number to be highest in the morning and lowest in the afternoon3 in the canine and feline.

The Basophil

The Basophil is rarely seen on periphral blood smear in cats and dogs is defined by its large cytoplasmic granules, that usually obscure the nucleus of the cell. They are similar to mast cells and become mast cells upon leaving the blood and entering the tissues.

Both basophils and the mast cell contain selective receptors for IgE that is produced in response to various allergens.

Response to specific allergens by the basophil is quick and results in expulsion of the cells granular contents, which contain histamines and vasodilating agents. This is another reason that contributes to the basophil not being readily present in the peripheral blood smears of cats and dogs. The result of a basophilic response creates an immediate state of hypersensativity in the animal. This can result in hay fever, asthma, urticaria, and most seriously, anaphylactic shock.

The Monocyte

The Monocyte is the largest cell type seen in peripheral blood smears. The nuclei is not multilobular, but appears deeply indented (kidney bean shaped) or U-shaped (horse-shoe shaped). The chromatin appears reticulated. The cytoplasm of monocytes contains many lysosome granules which give it a standard grayish-blue color in most instances. Monocytes form part of a cellular alliance that has been described as the monocyte-macrophage system3. This system is made up of bone marrow precursor cells, such as monoblasts and promonocytes, as well as circulating monocytes containing free and fixed tissue macrophages.

Monocytes become tissue macrophages and remove dead cell debris when they leave the bloodstream. They also attack organisms and certain fungi. Organisms and fungi affected by the monocytes are those which cannot be destroyed by the neutrophil. Unlike neutrophils, monocytes are able to regenerate the contents of their lysosomes and thus live longer. Cell types that are derivatives of the monocyte include: Kupffer cells of the liver, sinus cells of the spleen and lymph nodes, pulmonary alveolar macrophages, as well as free macrophages in the synovial, pleural and peritoneal fluid.

The Lymphocyte

Types of Lymphocytes include the Small Lymphocytes, K-Lymphocyte, B-Lymphocytes and (Helper) T-Lymphocytes.

Small lymphocytes are produced in the lymph nodes and spleen are similar to all the lymphocyte types but differ in the location in which they sequester for their function.

Helper T-Lymphocytes originate in the thymus and produce long living T-Cells which become Killer T-Cells or K-Cells which mediate antibody dependent cell cytotoxicity (tumor rejection).

B-Lymphocytes are localized in the corticomedullary region of the lymph nodes and are made up of cells of the germinal centers of the cortex in lymph nodes, in the red pulp of the spleen, and in the submucosal regions of the stomach and respiratory tract.

Lymphocytes, distinguished by having a deeply staining purple nucleus that is sometimes eccentrically located, usually contain a relatively small amount of cytoplasm. The small ring of the cytoplasm contains numerous ribosomes and readily stains blue with Wright’s Stain or Diff-Quik. Small numbers of granules may also be noted in the cytoplasm randomly.

Lymhpocytes increase in number as a response to viral infection. The small lymphocyte will approximately the same size as the normocytic RBC. The cytoplasm is often not visible because it is obscured by the nucleus of this cell. This cell is definitively round under examination and lacks “divets.” There can be variations in the size of the lymphocyte in the k-9/f-9 with the small type usually being the predominant type. In the small lymphocyte the chromatin is usually so coarse that it is masked. The medium and large forms of the lymphocyte often appear smudged.

Lymphocytes will increase in number with restraint: physical or chemical, and you will usually notice a corresponding increase in PMNs.

Anemia

Anemia is defined as a below standard hematocrit (HCT). A species specific hematocrit1 is as follows: Dog: 37-55, Cat: 24-45, Horse: 32-52, Porcine: 24-46, Bovine: 24-46. There are further variations of this data available that are further differentiated on the basis of age and sex. The author uses a combination of sources, which he has found through experience to be clinically reliable and accurate.

Most anemic conditions (except hemorrhage anemia) can be ordered to have an etiology of consumption, production, destruction or sequestration and further differntiation of anemic types are considered by ascertaining variation is size, shape, color.

Anemias of consumption include the hemolytic anemias and those created by disease conditions should as DIC and parasites where platelets and other clotting factos are consumed. Some anemias which sequester platelets and blood to the spleen, have also been placed in this classification, but etiologic differentiation has been found to be of clinical significance.

Anemias of destruction such as Autoimmune Mediate Hemolytic Anemia (AIMHA) exist when the body’s own antibodies destroy its own red blood cells.

Whether or not you use your own in-house clinical lab or send your specimens out to a reference lab, this lecture will bring you back to the basics and help you remember that which you may have forgotten in school. Many clinicians find this lecture and format helpful to expand on basic knowledge and clinically apply what they see either under the microscope or on the lab report.

Not having adequately available time to donate towards the lab, more clinicians are relying upon technicians to interpret laboratory results being unsatisfied with the time investment required to await the return of results from distant reference labs. Clinics and hospitals are using this author’s methods for training their staff to facilitate the clinician having more time to provide for patient and client care, thus increasing value added service and customer satisfaction.

The Power of ‘because…’

“Do it!”, “Do it now!”, or “Do it because…”

Which of these commands is most likely to get the response you want?


If you picked the third, the one that includes ‘because’, you’d be right. Of course, if you’re a parent, aunt, or uncle you may know that already.


The idea behind ‘because…’ is to provide an explanation or rationalization for the request you’re making. In other words, the command or request is not just an arbitrary exercise of power on your part — it’s a reasoned request or command.


In a broader sense, ‘because’ provides context, which we’ve often discussed in this newsletter. Context provides a framework for specific communication. For example, “Please review this contract before we mail it out, because a mistake could cost us thousands of dollars.”


A number of Internet entrepreneurs report they’ve tested the use of ‘because’ in their advertising copy and found it worked. I’ve used it myself on the home page of Abbott’s Communication Letter where visitors are invited to subscribe.


I haven’t tested to see whether or not it makes a difference. But I do know it helps in the copy writing process.


It helps because it pushes me to make a connection between an action and a consequence of that action. For example, “Wear a helmet when you ride your bike, because it will help you avoid head injuries if you fall.” In this case, wearing a helmet is the action; avoiding a head injury is the consequence.


One more thought: the word ‘because’ does not always have to be explicit. It can be implicit or implied, as in “Wear a helmet when you ride your bike, so you won’t injure your head if you fall.”


Let’s consider a few more examples, from various functional perspectives.


Suppose you’re a librarian and you want to encourage patrons to expand their reading horizons. So, you post a sign in the Historical Fiction area that reads something like this: “The story here is only half the story. Visit the History shelves, too, and enrich the stories you find here.”


The action: look in the History section, as well as the Historical Fiction section. The consequence: you’ll learn the story behind the story, enriching your reading of the fictitious stories.


How about a sales example? If you send a sales letter, do you focus on product features and ignore the benefits your readers will reap (believe me, I see a lot of these letters)? If you use ‘because’ with each feature– explicitly or implicitly — you’ll force yourself to list benefits as well as product features.


Compare these two pitches: “Now featuring keyboard water coolers with two-gallon capacity!” and “With the two-gallon keyboard water cooler, your keyboard will never overheat, no matter how fast you type.”


In summary, using the word ‘because’ in your message will help you write more persuasive copy and help your readers understand why they should respond to you.
